HONESTY

“If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.”
MARK TWAIN.

One major virtue that is most desperately needed all over the world today and at the same time very hard to come by is a virtue called ‘honesty’. Honest people are needed in all spheres of human endeavors. They are needed in businesses, religion institutions, government establishments and everywhere. To be honest is to always tell the truth all the times; even when it’s dangerous to do so.

Today, businesses are crashing. Friendships are tearing apart. Families are in disarray. Marriages are crumbling. Religion institutions are battling with integrity problem. All these are the outcomes of dearth of honesty in our society today. The situation is so worse today that an attitude such as returning misplaced items to the rightful owner which should be a normal thing in an ideal society is now being celebrated as a heroic pursuit. Honest men and women are very hard to come by these days. Are you one of them?

What does it mean to be honest? To be honest is to always tell the truth, and never to cheat or steal. Honesty is the quality of being honest. An individual, a team, a company, and even a country should be known for honesty. Honesty is a great virtue.

Some companies falsified their books just to cut corner when it comes to taxation. Several other companies doctored their financial records just to deceive shareholders and investors. The same companies would be frown at staffs that are involved in fraud, age cheat and other vices. What a great hypocrisy? Politicians that are pocketing billions of dollars of their country’s money through corrupt practices are at the same time setting several millions of dollars aside to fight corruption. Who is deceiving who? Individuals in places of work are in the habits of diverting office stationery for personal use. This also is dishonesty. Not even an official envelop should be converted to personal use. Are you guilty of this? Stop!

The truth of the matter is that hardly can one find five honest people in a group of hundred. The situation is all that bad. Today parents are spending thousands of naira just to ensure the success of their children in major examinations through examination malpractices. What a wrong way to bring up the leaders of tomorrow!

To be sincere, hope is not lost. We can still redeem the situation. We can still all turn a new leaf. All it takes is to change our minds and our attitudes. We can all imbibe this virtue of honesty. It pays to be honest. Do you know that even armed robbers want people to be honest in dealing with them? They want their victims to declare and bring out all the money at their disposal, without any reservation. What an irony?

How can I be honest? The five strategies enumerated below can get you there and keep you there.
• Always let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’, ‘No’.
• Never go against your conscience in all personal and business dealings.
• Always take permission from your superior or any other person including your spouse, parents or children before using anything that belong to them.
• Confess all wrongdoings to those affected immediately.
• Never take anything that doesn’t belong to you nor cheat on others.

We can have a world populated by honest people. A world where people of integrity outnumbered those who are dishonest. We can all work together to make this a reality. Let’s start from our families, offices, schools, churches, communities, and make this world a better place. You have a role to play!

LOOK UP TO JESUS

“Problems of life are not solved by running away from them but by looking up to God for help.”
W.F. Kumuyi

Have you tried several people and visited several places in search of a permanent solution to your life’s challenges? Are your several encounters with men in search of a way out often results in material, financial and physical losses? Then, it’s time to try God.

Maybe your thinking was that the challenges facing you are as a result of your family background, and you therefore decided to be far away from your family members. Running away doesn’t guarantee freedom from the challenges of life. You’ve got to face your challenges headlong. This time around, be ready to face your challenges by looking up to Jesus and you‘ll be victorious.

What is that challenge in your life? Is it lack, poverty, affliction, failure, sickness, impossible husband, impossible wife, wayward children, stagnation, barrenness, or a marital problem? They are nothing before God.

All it takes to overcome all these challenges is just to look up to God. Looking up to God goes beyond church attendance and saying some words of prayer as led by your Pastors or spiritual leaders. Neither is it about visiting several spiritual and healing homes around the town. It is all about serving God in truth and indeed, with our spirit, body and soul. It means a sincere desire to totally surrender all to God. If you can surrender all to Him, He’ll become your father. If God is your creator and father; He won’t allow you to suffer without intervening on your behalf. If you can’t allow any of your cherished biological children to be thrown into the lion’s den, then never expect God who cares about you more than you care about your cherished children to abandon you to your challenges. Just look up to Him. He’s ready, willing and able to see you through.

How do we look up to Jesus? These are the ways to do so.
• Give your life totally to Him.
• Love what He love and hate what He hates.
• Never forsake the assembly of fellow brethren.
• Never seek help elsewhere or outside God again.
• Ask Him to intervene.
• Believe He’s intervened.
• Expect the requested turnaround.
• Tell others after He’s done it for you.
• Remain faithful to Him thereafter.

God has all the power to do all things. He has all it takes to see you through all the challenges in your life. Look up to Him today and He’ll show up in your life and turn the situation around.

POWER OF INFLUENCE

Five years from now you will be pretty much the same as you are today except for two things: the books you read and the people you get close to.
CHARLES JONES.

One of the most often asked questions at interviews is about a candidate’s goal for the next five years. The effective mastery of this all important question may determine who gets employed. Do you have a vision of where you would like to be in the next five years? Have you written it down? Are you committed to its actualization? A serious minded person should be able to envision where he or she intends to be in the next five years.

Influence is the effect that somebody or something has on the way a person thinks or behaves or on the way that something works or develops. This shows that influence is powerful and is capable of making or marring a person’s future. Who and what influence the way we reason, behave, talk and response to issues go along way to determine our failure or success in life. What’s your source of influence?

Aside God, the other two things that will determine where we’ll be in the next five years are the books we read and the people we get close to. The books we read can derail us from achieving our full potentials. What do you read? Some read books, magazines, articles, and newsletters that fan their ember of lust and therefore crash their marriage. Some read books that empowered them with strategies for perfecting frauds and they end up in jail. Today several millions of people all over the world are in jail, wrong marriages, wrong professions, wrong businesses, wrong places of worship, and wrong clubs or associations as a result of the people they get close to. Look before you leap. Be wary of that person trying to get close to you at all costs. The union could mar your future and reputation. Watch it!

How do we know what to read? Books that relate to our profession or field are not harmful; they are written to enrich and empower us to deliver superior performance on the job. Books to be avoided are books that encourage lust, anger, bitterness, immorality, revenge, obsession and crime. Books and materials that promote principles that negate the scripture or teach heresy should also be avoided at all costs. Always go for books and materials that promote love, peace, service, truth, godliness, moderation, fear of God, and integrity.

Who should we get close to? We must have fantastic relationship with people around us. Those we should have fantastic relationship with include our customers, clients, co-workers, church members, and neighbors. To have fantastic relationship with people is to value and acknowledge them for who they are. This is different from having a close relationship with them. The person with whom you have a close relationship with is that person that you can confide in and even stand surety for. Make sure you know a person more intimately before you develop a close intimacy with him or her. Take your time to know people before having a close relationship with them. Know what they believe, value, hate, love, do, and read. Get to know the kind of company they keep as well.

To be where God wants you to be in five years time and for the rest of your life; read the right books and keep the right company.

LIVE YOUR DREAM

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined”.
Henry David Thoreau

The dream you have of your future should spur you to be confident of yourself and see yourself the way you had wanted to be and not the way you are, presently. The dream you have about your future must have a great influence on everything you do. Your dream should shape the way you relate with others, the places you visit, the kind of books you read and the kind of company you keep.

The actualization of your dream has a lot to do with your imagination. Your power of imagination works most when you have a directional plan showing every step you intends to take in order to achieve your desired future dream. A dream without a mapped out strategy to assure its actualization is just a dream in futility.

Do you have a worthwhile goal or dream in life? Do you have mapped out strategies for its actualization? If your answers to the above questions are in the negative, then you are yet to have a dream. Go back to work; put your dreams in black and white. Pen down your major strategies for actualizing the dreams as well. Until this is done, you don’t have a dream yet.

You may be wondering. How do I live my dream? You live your dream by being convinced that your dream can become a reality. You live your dream by believing in your dream. You live your dream by acting as if it’s already a reality. Until you have confidence in your dream, nobody will buy into it.

The first step in living your dream is to follow the various directional strategies that you have designed towards the actualization of the dreams. This entails moving from stage A to stage B and from there to stage C, until your dreams become a reality. As you move from one stage to the other you should focus on the end result. This picture of the end result should be your major motivation. If you can have a positive picture of the end result, you will definitely remain undaunted when you are confronted with numerous challenges on the way.

Having a picture of the end result in mind is not enough; you should be ready to pay the price. The road to the actualization of your dreams is not going to be rosy. On the way are so many constraints. Discouragements from people you trust and respect, financial constraints, stress and fear of failure, lack of encouragement and intention to quit. All you need do is to refuse to listen to people’s suggestion that your dream is not a realistic dream. Go ahead, remain focus and pay the price. Do everything possible to actualize your dream. After all, many dream that were considered impossible yesterday such as airplanes, are today a reality.

You can achieve your dream. Plan for it, work for it, imagine its possibility and live your dream. You will get there!

CONSCIOUS SELF DEVELOPMENT

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
Francis Bacon.

Our capacity to make informed decisions is a function of skills, knowledge, and capabilities that we possess. Your ability to deliver superior performance at work and in any other areas of your life is direct proportional to your skills, knowledge and attitude. With the right knowledge, your skills and attitude improves. Knowledge is power.

Any time there exist a gap between what we know and what we need to know, this resultant gap must be filled through knowledge. The cheapest means of getting knowledge is through a conscious self developmental effort.

Knowledge is all about having the right information needed to make informed decision or to achieve a given task at a particular point in time. Knowledge makes one to be smart and be in high demand. Leadership positions in Government across the world are often filled by knowledgeable individuals who have made their marks in business, education, private practice, public service and respected institutions within their country or across the globe. Knowledge makes the difference.

The knowledgeable people are always in control and could be rely upon in critical situations. This explains why the cabinets of political leaders across the world are made up of experts in various fields relevant to the service they are expected to render. This explains why the opinion of someone like Prof. Sam Aluko is highly required when government of Nigeria is introducing a new economic policy. Even if the government of the day fails to seek his opinion, the press will definitely do so. The position of someone like Prof. Sam Aluko counts because of his level of knowledge about economic issues. Your opinion does not count on any issue until you possess the knowledge that others see as uncommon.

Self development can be achieved through so many ways. Ben Carson, in his book, ‘Think Big’ described how he became an instant hero through knowledge of what his classmates knew nothing about. Being the dullest student in his class, this singular experience change his mentality that he can actually be the best in the class. Ben Carson had this experience when he was in fifth grade, by the time he got to the sixth grade; he had become the number one student in his class. This experience turned him into an instant hero and he continues in that zeal to become a world class neurosurgeon. He was able to achieve this feat through a conscious self development effort by studying hard, reading two books a week and watching less of television programmes. You can get to the peak of your career if you are ready to study hard and know what majority of your colleagues do not know.

The suggested strategies below could be used to achieve knowledge acquisition through conscious self development.
 Set a personal activities time table and follow it.
 Identify your career goal.
 Get the best education that fits your career goal.
 Read a material related to your field of study for at least one hour daily.
 Read at least one book of general or narrow interest per week.
 Limit your time on the internet and TV to the barest minimum.
 Have a close or distant mentor in your chosen field.
 Follow at least one Journal in your field or area of study or interest.
 Be inquisitive and conscious of development around you.
 Keep company with people with similar vision.

The difference between a versatile Lawyer and a mediocre one is knowledge. What differentiates a skillful and respected surgeon from the crowd is knowledge. To be the best in whatever you do, seek knowledge. Knowledge is power!

WE ALL NEED GOD

If we acknowledge our need for God, he will help us.
Ben Carson, M.D.

As human, we tend to attribute our success in life to our family background, education, exposure, knowledge, experience, smartness and skills. This may be true, but the fact still remain that there are thousands out there with better education , exposure, knowledge, skill and influence who could not even achieved half of what we have achieved so far.
Our failure to see God as the architect of all that we have accomplished so far could be because of the kind of environment we live in. An environment where evil men thrive. An environment where people that openly declare that there’s no God are the one calling the shot. An environment where mediocrity is rewarded over merit. An environment where evil men seem to live longer. These experiences should not deter you from depending absolutely on God and from attributing your success to Him.
The things we see and experience in the society a time often make us wanted to question God’s faithfulness. We might have seen and know a woman who has committed abortion severally before marriage, who became pregnant on her wedding night. While those who kept themselves pure before marriage had to wait for several months or even years before becoming pregnant. Our God is unquestionable.
To experience the best of God, never see yourself as deserving more of His goodness, mercy and blessings compared to those you considered sinners and undeserving. Our God does as he pleases.
All it takes for you to enjoy the very best of God is for you to acknowledge the fact that you need Him. No matter what you may be passing through presently, God is able to see you through. All you need do is call upon Him. This you must do with all sincerity.
What is it that you’re passing through now? It’s not beyond God. You might have even gone to seek help where help could not be found in the past. All God requires from you is just for you to look up to Him in your present predicament. Just put in your best possible effort as human and then wait patiently for God’s divine intervention.
This should be your attitude in all the difficult situations that is confronting your career, business, family and marriage. Are you a Surgeon handling a dicey surgical operation? Involve God. Are you a parent with impossible children? Call on God for help. Are you a businessman in confusion? Ask God for wisdom.
If you can involve God in all your impossible situations, He’ll surely help you out.

YOU CAN CHANGE THE WORLD

‘Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world’.
Joel Barker.

Those who change the world, in sciences, medicine, engineering, politics and business are mere mortal like you and I. They never posses any super intelligent or computer brain. All they had was vision back by action.

You too can change the world with your good vision and actions. Do you have a vision of how to make this world a better place? Put it into action. Many people with noble ideas often die with their wonderful ideas and visions due to failure to put them into action.

Look around you today. What can you see? Computers on tables, palms and laps. Internet connectivity. Electronics in cars, homes and offices. Cars on our roads. Airplanes in the sky. Sophisticated Ship at sea and Ocean. Sophisticated medical equipment in our hospitals. Spacecrafts on journey to the space. Electricity in our homes, offices and factories. All these things are products of people’s vision plus action. You too can change the world.

Thomas Edison changes the world through many inventions including electric bulbs. Ted Turner changes the world through uninterrupted 24 hour TV broadcasting. William H Gates changes the way we use computers through excellent software packages. Henry Ford pioneers the idea of mass-producing motorized cars so cheaply that the average person could purchase one. His neighbors considered him as a daydreaming mechanic with worthless contraptions. With vision and action he realised his dream by forming Henry Ford Motor Company. Henry Ford, Ted Turner, William H. Gates and Thomas Edison were not super human. They only put their vision to action. You too can make history by putting your vision to work.

Pastor E. A. Adeboye of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, with headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria, changes the face of evangelism with a vision of having a member of his Church in all families of the world. He is working on making this vision a reality by establishing a parish of his church within five minutes walking distance in developing countries and five minutes driving distance in developed countries. Do you have vision? What are you doing about it? Get a vision and put it to work.

God created all humans as solution providers. God never created a man to be useless. No matter your level of intelligence, gift and resources, there is a vacuum you were created to fill in order to make this world a better place. You can add value in your place of work, environment, school, church and in whatever you do. All it takes to make any meaningful impact is vision and action.

The vision you have is useless without action. Vision without action equals day dreaming. The actions you are taken without a clear cut vision will lead to frustration. Action without vision is passing time. All you need to change your life, society, family, environment and the world is action, action and action. Go and change the world!

HEALTH IS WEALTH

The level of our productivity at any point in time depends on the state of our physical, mental and emotional well-being. Likewise, the level of an individual’s physical, mental and emotional well-being is subject to his or her state of health. Therefore, take good care of your body. Never wait until you’re down with sickness. Eat well, take enough rest, and exercise regularly.

Find below ten health quotes that would help you focus more on your health.

1. "Health is the greatest of all possessions; a pale cobbler is better than a sick king."
Isaac Bickerstaff
2. "The health of the people is really the foundation upon which all their happiness and all their powers as a state depend."
Benjamin Disraeli
3. "Get Health. No labor, effort nor exercise that can gain it must be grudged."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
4. "Prevention is better than cure."
Desiderius Erasmus
5. "Nine-tenths of our sickness can be prevented by right thinking plus right hygiene? Nine-tenths of it!?"
Henry Miller
6. "Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live."
Jim Rohn
7. "Prevention is better than cure."
Desiderius Erasmus
8. "The sovereign invigorator of the body is exercise, and of all the exercises walking is the best."

9. "The ingredients of health and long life are great temperance, open air, easy labor, and little care."
Sir Philip Sidney Thomas Jefferson

10. "To get rich never your risk your health. For it is the truth that health is the wealth of wealth."
Richard Baker

Health is wealth; please do pay all the needed attentions to your health. Stay healthy!

SOON TO EXPIRE

"Everyone has his burden. What counts is how you carry it."
Merle Miller

Most often than not, majority of people are of the opinion that they have a bigger burden than people around them. Don’t be deceived, everyone has his burden; what counts is how you carry your own burden. If you carry your burden in such a way that shows you are to be pitied, that’s exactly what you will get, pity. Worry not; your burdens will soon expire.

Learn to put your problems in the right perspective. No matter what your needs and desires are, do know that several others are in similar situation.

When it seems as if your challenges are too heavy for you to bear, these are what you should do.

PUT YOUR BURDENS IN THE RIGHT PERSPECTIVE
To put your problem in the right perspective is to be convinced within your heart that the problem has a beginning and it will surely have an end. What is your burden? Bareness, poverty, sickness, joblessness, recurring examination failure, drunken husband, nagging wife, threat of divorce, insecurity, smoking, masturbation, psychological trauma and so on. Relax; you’re on your way out.

BE DETERMINED TO GET OUT OF IT
It is not enough for you to be convinced that solution is on the way, you must be determined to get out of the situation. Determination will get you thinking on what you need to do, so as to get out of your predicament. At this stage, you have to think deeply and resolved that enough is enough. Make all conscious effort to get out of the situation by given it all it takes. Are you jobless? Write more applications and prepare for interviews like never before. No matter the magnitude of your problem, make extraordinary personal efforts to get out of it.

SEEK HELP
Whenever personal efforts failed to get result, please seek help. Meet responsible and respected people around for help. Seek counsel from genuine men of God and experts on your area of challenge. Never accept the burden as your cross simply because all your personal efforts have failed to yield a positive result.

DELAY IS NOT DENIAL
That nothing tangible happens after all your positive outlook, determination and counseling is not a pointer that an end has come to your hope. No, not at all. The solution is on the way. Cheer up; the only thing you should be expecting now is the manifestation, since you have played your part.

In conclusion, no matter what you may be passing through, never allow the problem to overwhelm you to the extent that you’re blind to all good things that God has done for you in the past. Be cheerful amidst your challenges. Your miracle is on the way!

GO TO WORK

‘Dreaming is wonderful, goal setting is crucial, but action is supreme. To make something happen you must get busy and make it happen. Take that step today that will put you on your path to achievement’.
GREG WERNER.

Millions of people started this year on a wonderful note. They started the year with high hope, new determination, excellent resolutions, big dreams, inspiring goals and impactful visions. The reality of all these New Year enthusiasms is that people are not always ready to go to work to bring them to reality and this explains why only about 5 % of people with high hope at the beginning of the year actually achieve their goals by the end of the year.

To make a difference and actualize all your goals, visions and aspirations this year, you must go to work. Go to work means to get busy and make it happen.

Achieving any worthwhile goal requires a step by step action plan. This step by step action plan is what I call ‘go to work action plan’.

The first step in this endeavor is to re-appraise your goals, visions and aspirations. Go over them to be sure that they are actually what you need to achieve in order to excel in life. Some goals could be as a result of envy or just to impress people. Delist such goals from your list. An example of such a goal is to plan to buy a car just because all your colleagues at work are mobile, while you’re still living with an uncle. Your goal should be an apartment of your own, not a car.

After you’ve re-appraised your goal and prune them to size, prioritize them and focus on the major ones. Prioritization must be done on need and importance basis, with emphasis on financial consideration, timing, and urgency. Please always keep your goal for a particular year as few as possible, to prevent confusion and distraction.

The step two above is expected to guide you on which goal should take a larger percentage of your time, finance and dedication. The third stage is a brainstorming stage. A stage dedicated to idea generation on how best to achieve your set goals, visions and aspirations. To be profitable in this venture, you must open up your mind and be sensitive to your mind and reasoning, as well as people around you. You must cultivate the habit of writing down all good ideas that cross your mind; your mobile phone could be used in achieving this. Ideas do crop up when we least expected, so document any positive ideas that cross your mind at work, in the toilet and bathroom, on your bed, in the church, at social gatherings and everywhere you go. All these ideas must be harnessed and compiled for analysis.

Stage four is solely for selecting the best ideas. Ideas that can best bring about the actualization of your goals, dreams and aspirations. If you have a goal of raising a certain sum of money to commence a small scale retail business in twelve months period. Some of the ideas that could readily come to your mind could be to raise the money through loan from friends and relatives, another option could be to save like 40% of your current monthly salary for the next few months, to achieve the same purpose. This stage focuses on coming up with the best option for achieving your goal after detailed consideration of the associated risk and return.

It’s not enough to come up with a workable idea or strategy without putting it to action. This stage is all about implementing your lead strategy. If saving a 40% of your current salary will provide the amount needed to commence your dream part-time retail business in the next twelve months, then start to save, now, now and now. Until you go to work by putting your lead strategy to action, you’re yet to start.

You can achieve what you have set for yourself as a goal, a resolution, a vision and aspiration this year, if you remain committed to its actualization. It’s not enough to dream dreams, set goals and have visions. You must be extremely committed to its
actualization by doing everything possible to make it happen. Best of luck!

WHO DO YOU SEE?

‘We were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.’
(Numbers 13:33b (Holy Bible: KJV))

This world is full of people, people who never recognised their inane potentials. People who go about with the mentality that they occupied the bottom position, in the pyramid of life. These kinds of people are found among leaders and followers respectively. The basic fact about life is that you are bound to be seen, the way you see yourself. The logic behind this reasoning is the fact that your self perception determines your actions and behaviour; this in turn determines how others perceive you and react to you. So, always see yourself as you can be and not as you are now.

To achieve your set goals this year, be it in your marriage, career, business and personal life; you’ve got to put yourself in the right perspective. If you see your marriage as being on the verge of collapsing, it will surely end so, since all your actions will be geared towards actualizing your preconceived perception of a failed marriage. Learn to see and perceive right.

What height are you envisaging in your career this year? You can picture your desired height and work towards it. If all you direct your energy on is the fear of being retrenched, just because many people are being sacked in your place of work. This thought process will influence your subconscious mind and this in turn will influence you to work in such a way that your productivity will be called for scrutiny and this might hand you a sack letter, on a platter of gold.

In all your undertakings and actions, expect the best, put in the best and you will certainly get the best result. Never see yourself as a prey before others; they will trample on you. Never see yourself as a grasshopper before others; they will treat you as one. Are you jobless now? See yourself going to work for a choice company. Are you barren today? See yourself carrying your wonderful baby. Is your marriage shaking? See it stabilizing. Are you confused? See yourself overcoming it. Until you can see it, you won’t be willing to pay the price to achieve it. See yourself the way you really want to be.

The ‘you’ that you can see now, is the ‘you’ that you will end up becoming, now or in the nearest future. Who do you see?

STANDING TALL WITH INTEGRITY

‘You can stand tall without standing on someone. You can be a victor without having victims.’
HARRIET WOODS

The major leadership challenge today is that of putting someone down to elevate ourself. True leaders usually stand tall without standing on someone while mediocre leaders believe they can only stand tall when others are being tramped upon.

This scenario is so rampart these days in all spheres of human endeavors. In politics, corporate organisations, government institutions (ministries, department and agencies) and even churches. The issue of putting others down to elevate oneself is very rampart in any union, association, group, organisation and institution with two or more people. The essence of this practice is to demonstrate to others that we’re better off.

This action is usually motivated by greed, inferiority complex, envy and hatred. The truth of the matter is that we can make excellent impact in our various areas of expertise without having to put others down. Some of the methods being employed to put others down are deliberate lying, undue criticism of good intention and suggestions, sabotage, open rebuke, abuse and ridicule.

To excel and move ahead in your career, relationship and place of work this year, resolve not to run others down to gain promotion, favour and approval. Instead, your emphasis this year should be on lifting others up, as you go up the ladder of success. Helping others to reach their goal has a way of motivating them to help you reach your own goal as well. This is supported by the word of Zig Ziglar that ‘When you choose to be pleasant and positive in the way you treat others, you have also chosen, in most cases, how you are going to be treated others.’

Is anyone standing on your way of promotion, favour and approval by any act of sabotage? Never be discouraged. Remain positive and never pay the person back. Just keep doing your best at all times. Your positive impacts will soon be noticed by all and your promotion thus becomes clear for all to see.

Be determined not to bring anybody down for the purpose of winning promotion, affection, favour and support, this year. It usually has a boomerang effect. Learn to stand tall without standing on others.

THANK GOD FOR 2010

The more you recognise and express gratitude for the things you have, the more you will have to express gratitude for.

Zig Ziglar

Men by their nature are quick to remember what they have lost, the disappointments they have experienced, goals and expectations they could not met. But hardly remember all the unexpected breakthroughs, promotions, blessings, protection and provisions they have been enjoying over the time.

The fact still remain that 2010 is gone and gone for good. So many people experienced the best year of their life in 2010 while some are of the opinion that 2010 was their worst year on earth so far. No matter your experience in 2010, that you’re still alive up to this moment shows that the year 2011 may be your year of harvest of lost glory, promotion, and opportunities. All you need to begin the year on a sound note is to be thankful to God for seeing the New Year. So many people that started 2010 with you did not live to see the end of the year. Just be thankful. When there’s life, there’s hope.

To really appreciate God enough for 2010, you may have to sit down and count your blessings one by one. The need for you and me to thank God for 2010 could be due to any of the following reasons.
• Your job is intact while others lost theirs.
• Millions of people died all over the world in 2010 but you’re still alive.
• You were never a victim of kidnappers while so many people were victims.
• Your spouse and/or children are still alive while countless others lost theirs.
• Journey mercies throughout the year.
• Daily provision and protection for 365 days.

Until you sit down to count your blessings you may not know the value of the great things that the Lord did in your life last year. Stop focusing on what God did not do in the year, but rather be grateful for all that He did for you throughout the year.

This is the time to really thank God for what he did in your life last year, so that he can do more for you this year. May this year be your best year so far. Happy New Year!
