"The man who can drive himself further once the effort gets painful is the man who will win."
Roger Bannister
Winners never quit and quitters never win. This assertion is ever true. No matter how brilliant a student has been in class, failure to sit for exam means he’s never going to be graded or promoted. You can still achieve your set goals, only be more determined to succeed even when failure seems to be inevitable.
The successful people around us today that we envy and want to be like have had some stories of failures to tell before they eventually became successful. Experiences with failure are there to mold us as to the best way to begin again in a more intelligent and coordinated manner.
Have you tried several times to gain admission into the University without success, keep trying. Have you been making several efforts to please your spouse to no avail, keep trying. Have you tried repeatedly to get a good job without result, keep trying. Who knows? This attempt might be the last attempt that will open your door of success. Don’t quit as long as you still have breath in you. You’re closer to success than when you started. Don’t quit!
It’s possible to still experience failure after you’ve given it your best possible effort. Some people wrote professional exams for more than ten times before they became successful while some quit after experiencing failure only twice. One fact you must get clear is the fact that you’re not a failure until you stop trying. A loser today may end up becoming a winner tomorrow if he keeps on trying. Losers who stop trying remain so forever. Don’t be discouraged, you’re never a loser.
To really move ahead after you’ve experienced painful defeat or failure, you must shun detractors. They are there to encourage you to quit. Never give in to their advice and suggestions.
Are you considering quitting as an option? Then do the following.
• Resolve to give it your last possible best effort.
• Seek counsel from the right source for encouragement.
• Do away with those who encourage you to quit.
• Think success and not failure.
• Evaluate your past trials for possible reasons for failure.
• Develop a new success strategy.
• Give it all it takes.
This is your time to succeed. You must never quit at this level. You’re closer to success now than ever before. Yes, you are!

SEE IT IN YOUR OWN MIND
‘If you want to reach a goal, you must ‘see the reaching’ in your own mind before you actually arrive at your goal.’
ZIG ZIGLAR.
The you that you can see in your own mind may end up being the you that you will eventually become. Some people are in the habit of using their mind in the wrong way. They visualize themselves as poor, needy and sick. Anybody that will go far in life must make the best use of his mind. The things we visualize always have a way of becoming reality in the long run. Learn to use your mind profitably. See yourself as successful, influential and healthy.
To excel in life one must set goals, develop strategies to actualize the goals and above all put the strategies into action. The most important aspect of actualizing your goal is your ability to see the reaching of the goal in your mind. Until you can see it in your mind that your goal is indeed a possibility, you may not be able to give it all it takes to make it a reality. Not that a particular unseen hand is responsible for this process but that once your subconscious mind is convinced that you can, then your conscious mind will go into action to produce all the energy needed to make it a reality. Never underplay the place of your mind in reaching your goal.
The mind that is capable of thinking right is a mind that is fed with positive thoughts. Your mind has the capacity to give back to you in a more refined way, what you have been feeding it with, all these while. So feed your mind with possibilities. Feed your mind with positive thoughts. Feed your mind with encouraging thoughts. Feed your mind with good news. Feed your mind with message of hope and of a better future. It’s what you feed your mind with that you’ll get back.
The most efficient way to feed your mind with excellent and positive thoughts is through what you read, hear and see. Learn to watch and listen to motivational talks by men and women that love God and fear Him. Read books that are full of wisdom and encouragement. Do away with books and messages that encourage anger, bitterness, lust, aggression, war and revenge. Always entertain positive thoughts and discard evil thoughts.
One thing you must know for sure is that positive thoughts and actions are contagious. To remain positive and constantly use your mind rightly, you must cultivate the habit of encouraging people around you. Share the positive thoughts you learn from books, tapes and other sources with those who are discouraged. Practicing this constantly will automatically make you a die hard positive thinker. Learn to share positive and encouraging thoughts with others.
In conclusion, as this year is going to an end, begin to see your goals for the year ahead as becoming reality. Think possibility, think solution, think prosperity, think good health and think of a better year ahead.
